Arkansas County Sheriff Information
The Arkansas County jail is operated by the local Sheriff’s Office. The current Sheriff is Johnny Cheek and the Chief Deputy is Bradley Stevens. There are two district offices–Northern and Southern–and four deputies at each office. Administrative office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Arkansas County is located in the eastern part of the state, in the Arkansas Delta. The county has two seats, DeWitt and Stuttgart. Stuttgart is the largest city. As of 2020, the county had a population of 17,149 and a total area of 1,033.79 square miles. It is one of seven counties in the United States that have the same name as the state in which they are located.
