How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates may receive personal mail, though this may not include magazines, puzzle or comic books, or suggestive materials. All personal mail to inmates must have the sender’s full name and address on the outside of the envelope.
Funds may be added to inmates’ accounts via mail or at visitation. Cash, cashier’s check, government checks, and money orders are accepted.
Visitation Hours
Visits to inmates last 30 minutes and may be attended by 2 adults. The schedule is organized by status, gender, and housing assignment.On Saturdays, females may be visited from 9-11am, those in Housing 1 from 1-5pm, and trustees from 6-9pm. On Sundays, those in Housing 2 may be visited from 1-3pm and those with misdemeanor charges from 3-5pm. Segs may be visited Friday from 1-5pm and 309s on Sunday and Wednesday after 6pm.
Ashley County Sheriff Information
The Ashley County Sheriff’s Office operates and maintains the county jail. The current Sheriff is David Johnson and Guy Hughes serves as Chief Deputy. The office includes 13 sworn deputies, the jail staff, and four detectives in the criminal investigation division.
