The Baxter County Jail is a detention center located in Mountain Home, Arkansas. In 2022, there were 1,891 people booked into the county jail. The inmate population fluctuated between 98 and 151 inmates. The Jail Administrator is Lt. Sebastian Dennis and the staff includes Sgt. Tabitha Maze, Sgt. Kaitlyn James, Sgt. Jacob Zappa, Sgt. Blake Due, Cpl. Nathan Horn, Cpl. Tommy Cruse, Cpl. Alena Brown, Cpl. Both the inmate roster and recent booking roster are available online. The include inmates’ demographic information, arrest and booking details, charges, bond, and mugshots.

How to Send Money

Funds may be added to inmates’ accounts in person at the commissary kiosk located in the detention center lobby. It is available at all times. Follow the touch screen prompts to add funds to any inmate’s commissary account.

Visitation Hours

Inmate visitation is scheduled by name and gender. Visitation for male inmates with last names beginning with A-M is Wendesday from 11am to 6pm. Male inmates with names beginning with N-Z is held Saturday from 11am to 6pm. Female inmates may schedule visitation Fridays from 11am to 6pm.

Visitors must be at least 7 years of age and all minors must be accompanied by an adult with a valid photo ID. Up to 2 visitors may attend a given visit. No cell phones or other electronics are allowed in the visitation room.

Baxter County Sheriff Information

The county jail is operated by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department. John Montgomery has been Sheriff since 2005. The Chief Deputy is Captain Jeff Lewis. Lewis operates the jail inmate work program and publishes an occasional newsletter for local citizens. Administrative hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
